While we’ve all been stuck inside NOT doing shows for lots of people, me and a few of my friends were getting really restless and missing doing something audio related. There are tons of videos to watch and lots to learn online but nothing was quite the same and really getting my hands on it and doing it. So we made our own little ‘Mix Club.’ We all have some multi-tracks from shows or there are tons of places to get multi tracks online, we set ourselves a deadline and at the end of the week, we all meetup (usually beer in hand) and talk about what we ended up with. It is really amazing to see how different they end up and really amazing to see how creative my friends are. Sometimes we will do and “no-holds-barred” go for it kinda mix, and sometimes there ill be limitations. Number or styles of plugins, mix in mono. And for this week, it was a speed challenge. Everything had to be done in 30 minutes! We are obviously missing festival season and the ol’ throw and go. So I took a video of my speed-run. This is very similar to how I might attack a live sound mix with very limited time. Watch, comment, and enjoy!
